Payments

Folklore Home Store (Folklore Limited) offers the following forms of payment for purchases made using our online store:

  • Credit card by Shopify Payments (Shop Pay) Shop Pay accepts the following cards - Mastercard | Visa | Amex | Discover | Apple Pay | Google Pay
  • Afterpay

All payments are transacted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST. The name that will appear on your transaction statement is Folklore Limited.  If you are using an International credit card, please check with your credit card provider for exchange rates and applicable fees.

All website payments are processed on an independent secure hosted website (Shopify  / Afterpay). Folklore Limited is never privy to your credit card or bank account details.

Folklore Limited does not accept cheques.

Discount Codes
Folklore Limited occasionally offers single-use discount codes when customers sign up to receive marketing emails or create an account.  Folklore Limited reserves the right to cancel a discount code (and any resulting discounts) if fraudulent or suspicious redemptions are suspected. Discount codes are issued in good faith as a gratuity and are not a contractual obligation on the part of Folklore Limited, use of multiple email addresses for the same customer / delivery address will result in order cancellation and a subsequent refund.

Sales / End-Of-Line Discounts
Folklore Limited does not offer returns or exchanges for products purchased at discounted / promotional prices. All SALE purchases are final with the exception of clothing. CLOTHING PURCHASED ON SALE may be returned for sizing exchange (if available). Additional shipping fees will apply for size exchange. Sale priced clothing may returned for store credit (digital gift card) - no refunds will be issued. 

Sale goods may include end of line stock, seasonal clearance items and imperfections these will be appropriately noted on the product page.

If you have purchased an item and then within 3 days of purchase the item goes on sale, we will honour the sale price by way of a store credit (Folklore Gift Card) for the difference in price.

Product Supply
The Folklore website will only transact items that are showing as being in-stock by our inventory system. However if ordered items are found to be out-of-stock for any reason, all payments made by the Customer for the out-of-stock item will be refunded within five (5) working days. In most cases back-orders will not be entered into.

We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time.

Product availability may vary between Folklore Store, Clyde and the Folklore website. We make no assurances that a product will be available for sale or collection from both the store or website simultaneously (some products are web-only and vice versa). Please check in with us to confirm availability of your desired product using the store contact page. 

Website Information
Folklore Limited makes every effort to ensure the product and general information on this website is up to date and correct at the time of its creation on the website. We have made every effort to accurately represent colours, forms and finishes of the products that appear for sale on the website. We do not guarantee that your device will accurately render these colours. It is not a condition of supply that the goods will correspond precisely with the description / dimensions given or that colours shall match the photographed examples precisely. Please also ensure that you read and understand the size of the product(s) that you purchase - we make no attempt to show differing scale between products in our website photography.

Cancelling Orders
Orders cannot be cancelled after payment has been made as we will usually have packed and despatched your order within hours of checkout. If you process an order in error (e.g. wrong product or product option selected) please contact us using the email address in your order confirmation.

Pre-Orders
Folklore Limited may occasionally offer items for sale as a pre-order. Pre-order is defined as part-payment being made for goods in advance of their delivery to Folklore Limited. This is offered as a means of securing high-demand items or ensuring an agreed price. Folklore Limited endeavours to provide accurate delivery date estimates however, this delivery is determined by third party suppliers so may be subject to change. Pre-orders are not layby purchases and any funds paid for a pre-order are non-refundable. Pre-orders may not be cancelled.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
The liability of Folklore Limited for any loss, damage or injury arising directly or indirectly from any defect or non-compliance of the goods supplied is limited to replacement or repair of such goods or damages. Such liability shall not exceed the invoice value of the defective or non-complying goods at the option of Folklore Limited. Folklore Limited shall not be liable for any consequential indirect or special damage or loss of any kind whatsoever. 

Pricing
Occasionally items are advertised or presented for sale at the incorrect price, Folklore reserves the right to inform the Customer that there has been a error if an item has been purchased on the website at an incorrect price. Folklore Limited is not obligated to sell or supply the item for the erroneous price in the event of a genuine mistake. If the Customer does not wish to pay the correct price Folklore Limited will issue a full refund within five (5) working days. This is in compliance with the Fair Trading Act 1986. The Act protects the consumer against false / intentionally misleading advertising or unfair / illegal treatment by retailers. It also explicitly states that a retailer is not obligated to sell goods or services at an incorrect price if genuine mishaps occur with pricing errors.

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.

Special Orders

Products which are sourced or made to individual customer specifications or requests can not be cancelled or returned if the customer decides they no longer want the products.

Ownership
Ownership in the goods remains vested to Folklore Limited until the Customer has made payment in full to Folklore Limited or if payment rescinded. Until ownership passes to the Customer, Folklore Limited may repossess any or all of the goods supplied. Any costs resulting from such actions will be borne by the Customer

Privacy

Folklore Limited takes privacy and digital security very seriously. We employ systems in-store and online to ensure that all of your personal information is protected. Folklore Limited does not share your information with third parties without your consent and will only send marketing emails to Customers who have chosen to opt in to marketing. 

Folklore Limited uses cookies on our website, a common feature on most major web browsers. We use cookies to identify your browser and to ensure that our website recognises you during your visits to our site to improve your browsing and shopping experience.

Taxes / Duties

Folklore Store has no control over any customs or import duties that may be levied when the package reaches your destination country and for which the Customer will be liable.
