About Folklore Store
Folklore opened its doors in Clyde Historic Precinct on 19 October 2016. Folklore is the creation of co-owners Sarah & Todd Sisson, who at the time were full-time landscape photographers. Initially Folklore was a side-venture intended to support the main act - Sisson Gallery which showcased large format prints of the Sisson's work.
The vision, product selection and merchandising of Folklore was the exclusive domain of Sarah (Todd remains somewhat mystified by the whole thing and focuses on the boring bits of the business).
From day one customers have loved Sarah's world view and Folklore began a creeping overthrow of the gallery business- culminating with a full takeover of the Clyde store in 2024! Today Sarah works alongside buyer / manager Kate to source and curate the ever-changing product offer and store merchandising.
Behind the scenes, Folklore has evolved into a small-scale direct importer of quality artisanal goods from India and Bali. These are complemented by goods sourced from Australia and New Zealand suppliers. In 2025 all web operations and warehousing moved into a purpose built space resulting in greatly improved fulfilment times and a much less challenging work environment for our fantastic team.
If you're new to Folklore and want to confirm that we aren't another weird AI-generated 'Granny & Grandad are closing down after 50 years in Clyde' scam site we invite you to check out the store's verified Google profile and Instagram Page .
